Fresh organic henna paste, handmade in Berlin

We mix our henna cones ourselves in small batches: finely sifted organic henna, water and a few drops of essential oils. Nothing else. No preservatives, no PPD, no dyes. That is why we ship the paste chilled and you keep it in the freezer.

Each cone contains 20 g of paste and is ready to use. The opening at the tip is already the perfect size, so you can start drawing right away. Every order comes with a flyer full of tips and tricks. One cone is enough for a whole hand or a forearm, a baby bump design needs 3 cones. The paste is creamy and smooth, so even fine lines are easy. After you remove the dried paste, the stain is bright orange at first and darkens to a rich reddish brown within 24 to 48 hours.

Perfect for mehndi nights, weddings, Eid and Diwali, festivals, baby bump designs or kids' birthday parties.

On request, we mix your paste without essential oils. Just send us a short message.

Step by step

1. Prepare the cone: Take it out of the freezer about 1 hour before use.

2. Prepare your skin: Clean and dry, please no lotion. Oils and creams weaken the colour.

3. Draw: Freehand or with a stencil. The opening is already the right size. It may take a little practice at first, but you'll get the hang of it quickly.

4. Let it dry: The longer the paste stays on your skin, the richer the colour. Ideally overnight.

5. Rub it off: Don't wash the dry paste off. Gently rub it off with your fingers or a soft cloth instead. Then apply a little oil, for example coconut, almond or olive oil.

6. Protect the colour: Keep the area away from water as much as possible for the first 24 hours. The colour darkens over 24 to 48 hours.

For kids: Children often rub the paste off earlier. That's completely fine, the colour will just be a little lighter and still last a few days.

How many cones do I need?
One cone holds 20 g of paste and goes surprisingly far: for example for both hands or both feet. For a baby bump design, plan 3 cones. If you are just starting out, plan one cone for practice.

Simply freeze what is left over. In the freezer the paste keeps for 6 months.
How many cones do I need for a children's birthday party?
That is up to you and your group: either take 1 cone per child, so everyone can paint at the same time. Or 2 children share a cone and paint each other, so only half of the group paints at a time. For 7 children that is 7 cones or 4 cones.

Simply freeze the leftovers. In the freezer the paste keeps for 6 months.
Cone or applicator: which is better?
Cones are easier to use when you are starting out. The applicator is more for advanced users, or if you need an exact opening size and want to use the applicator several times.
What do I need for a kids' birthday party?
For children we recommend our cones, as they are the easiest for beginners. Plan either 1 cone per child, or let 2 children share a cone and paint each other. Anything left over can simply go back in the freezer. Children draw beautiful designs with lots of imagination from an early age.

Our kids' birthday set is especially handy: besides the cones, it includes practice sheets, stencils and an aftercare oil.
How dark will the stain be?
Right after you remove the paste, the design is light orange. Over the next 24 to 48 hours it darkens to reddish brown or dark brown. The stain is darkest on hands and feet and a little lighter on arms and belly. The longer the paste stays on, the deeper the result.
How long does a henna tattoo last?
Up to 2 weeks, depending on the body area and how often you wash it. It lasts longest on hands and feet.
Is the paste safe? Does it contain PPD?
No. Our paste is made only from organic henna, water and essential oils. It contains no PPD and is not “black henna”. If you have sensitive skin or react to essential oils, do a small test on the inside of your elbow first or order the paste without oils.
How do I store the cones?
In the freezer. There the paste keeps for up to 6 months. Take the cone out about 1 hour before use. It can be thawed and refrozen several times.

By the way: henna paste that keeps for a long time without cooling cannot do without preservatives or other additives. So the fact that our paste belongs in the freezer is a good sign: it is fresh and contains only natural ingredients.
When will my order arrive?
We ship your order within 2 working days, chilled in a thermal bag with a cold pack. Delivery within Germany takes 2 to 5 working days. For a party at the weekend, it is best to order by Monday.
From what age is henna suitable?
From about 4 years and only with adult supervision. Children usually draw wonderfully creative designs and have lots of fun doing it. Henna is a lovely alternative to ready-made stick-on tattoos: it supports fine motor skills and creative expression, and keeps children busy for a long time.

Children often rub the paste off sooner. That is completely fine, the stain will just be a little lighter and still last for a few days.
Why is your paste more expensive than ready-made cones from the shop?
Many ready-made cones keep for months without cooling. That is only possible with preservatives or other additives. We mix our paste fresh from organic henna, fill every cone by hand and ship it chilled. In return you get a paste with fully declared ingredients and a strong, natural stain.
